The position of Teacher – Diesel Technology is currently available at South High School. This is a Chapter 74 position
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
This individual is accountable for teaching and supervision of students in the Diesel Technology state frameworks and curriculum disciplines under the direction of the Automotive Department Head.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (to be included along with other responsibilities)
- Responsible for the implementation of departmental curriculum objectives based on State of Massachusetts VTE frameworks Diesel Technology.
- Responsible for the integration of the department’s curriculum where appropriate.

- Performance of other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Massachusetts teacher’s approval (Chapter 74) in Diesel Technology or ability to obtain within 1 year from hire.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- SEI Endorsement
- ASE/NATEF Certifications in Diesel.
- Minimum 5 years fulltime experience in Diesel Technology.
- Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Evidence of good human relation skills.
- Competent in computer applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs.
- Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese or an African Language.
- Demonstrated experience with second language acquisition.
