The position of Teacher – Diesel Technology is currently available at South High School. This is a Chapter 74 position

ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:

This individual is accountable for teaching and supervision of students in the Diesel Technology state frameworks and curriculum disciplines under the direction of the Automotive Department Head.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (to be included along with other responsibilities)

  • Responsible for the implementation of departmental curriculum objectives based on State of Massachusetts VTE frameworks Diesel Technology.
  • Responsible for the integration of the department’s curriculum where appropriate.

  • Performance of other job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Massachusetts teacher’s approval (Chapter 74) in Diesel Technology or ability to obtain within 1 year from hire.
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • SEI Endorsement
  • ASE/NATEF Certifications in Diesel.
  • Minimum 5 years fulltime experience in Diesel Technology.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Evidence of good human relation skills.
  • Competent in computer applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs.
  • Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese or an African Language.
  • Demonstrated experience with second language acquisition.
