Free Building and General Maintenance Tech Program

Build a solid foundation for your career with skills in Building and General Maintenance Tech.

Class starts September 2024

This course is designed to upskill adult learners in the field of basic building and property maintenance. Bay Path’s instructors will provide students with the skills and IRCs (Industry Recognized Credentials) needed to obtain at least an entry-level position in building and property maintenance. The course will also offer students classroom and hands-on learning in topics such as facilities cleaning and sanitization procedures, performing repairs on various building systems and components (including the basics of plumbing, electrical, HVAC – heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), minor building repairs, groundskeeping, proper tool and equipment usage, and appropriate upkeep. Additionally, students will learn how to maintain basic documentation associated with activities, repairs, and inspections.

During the course, students will also earn Industry Recognized Credentials such as OSHA 10

Additionally, students will receive training and guidance with the application processes including resume-building and interviewing skills.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

  • September 2024 – March 2025
  • Tuesdays and Wednesdays 5pm to 9pm
  • Participants are eligible to receive stipends based on completion of the program and gaining employment
