Free Sheet Metal Training Program

Class starts September 2025

This course is designed to upskill adult learners in the field of sheet metal. Bay Path’s metal fabrication instructor will provide students with the skills and IRCs (Industry Recognized Credentials) needed to obtain at least an entry-level position in a local sheet metal shop. This course will also provide students with classroom and hands-on learning in topics such as: Sheet metal health and safety practices. Introduction to hand and power tools. Introduction to fabrication and installation of ductwork and introduction to construction math and construction drawings.

During the course, students will also earn Industry Recognized Credentials such as: OSHA 10 and Hot Works Certification

Additionally, students will receive training and guidance with the application processes including resume-building and interviewing skills.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

  • September 2025 – March 2026
  • Mondays and Wednesdays
    • 4:30pm to 8:30pm
  • Participants are eligible to receive stipends based on completion of the program and gaining employment

  • Massachusetts Resident
  • Unemployed or underemployed
  • Legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Looking to work in the Sheet Metal field

Application Process:

1. Eligibility Review – We’ll review your application to confirm you meet the program’s requirements.

2. TABE Test – If you’re eligible, you’ll be invited to schedule a Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). Please note: you must also be a registered member of MassHire JobQuest to move forward.

3. Interview – If your TABE test scores meet the program criteria, you’ll be referred to Bay Path for an in-person interview.

4. Final Decisions – All applicants will be notified of final decisions by the first week of September.
