Sterile Processing Technician Training

This training program will teach you about the sterile processing department, vital infection control techniques, microbiology and the handling of surgical instruments. Infectious disease and illness can spread through healthcare facilities rapidly, causing severe sickness and even death. Therefore, sterilization performed by well-trained and professional sterile processing technicians is a critical component for all healthcare facilities and surgical centers. - 10-week, no-cost training for eligible unemployed and underemployed jobseekers
- Training is held at QCC in Worcester on Saturdays from 8-4 from August 22-October 24, 2026 and followed by a required 40-hour clinical held October 26-30, 2026
- Applicants must have a U.S. High School Diploma/GED/HiSet or U.S. Credentialed Foreign High School Diploma, strong English skills, and have U.S. work authorization.
- CORI/SORI checks will be done for all applicants.
- Goal of training is to obtain full time employment as a Sterile Processing Technician.
- Grant provides no-cost one-on-one career planning services to assist with job search activities.
- Finding a job post training is a partnership between the participant and Career Advisor.
