This course introduces adult learners to the core concepts of residential and light commercial electrical work. Bay Path’s experienced electrical instructors will equip students with foundational knowledge and hands-on experience essential for entry-level employment or progression toward journeyman licensure.

The curriculum covers electrical theory, workplace safety, tool identification, wiring methods, outlet and switch installation, blueprint reading, and an introduction to the National Electrical Code (NEC). Students will also learn basic troubleshooting techniques and routine maintenance. This course lays the groundwork for individuals planning to enter the electrical trade and begin the journeyman process.

Students will earn Industry Recognized Credentials such as OSHA 10 and Hot Work Safety Certification, both commonly required for employment in the trade.

Job-readiness support, including resume-building and interview coaching, is also included to help students transition successfully into the workforce.
