Welding

This course introduces adult learners to the core concepts of welding and practical applications. Bay Path’s experienced metal fabrication instructors will equip students with foundational knowledge and hands-on experience essential for entry-level employment of career advancement.

The curriculum covers welding theory and application, workplace safety, tool and machine identification, Gas Metal Arc Welding (M.I.G.), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (T.I.G), Oxygen Acetylene Welding, Cutting and Brazing (O.A.W.C.B), Plasma Arc Cutting (P.A.C) and Welding Print Reading.

Students will earn Industry Recognized Credentials such as OSHA 10 and Hot Work Safety Certification, both commonly required for employment in the trade. Students will have the opportunity to take the American Welding Society (AWS) MIG welding certification test.

Job-readiness support, including resume-building and interview coaching, is also included to help students transition successfully into the workforce.

Diesel Technician

Diesel Technician training prepares students for entry-level diesel careers through a combination of hands-on shop training and classroom instruction.

Students will learn core diesel engine fundamentals, including hands-on work with four-stroke diesel engines, transmissions, drivelines and axles, air brake systems, steering and suspension systems, and basic 12-volt electrical systems. Training also covers starting and charging systems, mobile air conditioning systems, basic scan tool diagnostics, workplace safety practices, and professional tool identification.

Students will earn industry-recognized credentials such as OSHA 10, NC3 Precision Measuring, and MACS 609 certifications.

Job-readiness support, including resume-building and interview coaching, is also included to help students transition successfully into the workforce.

Building Maintenance

This course is designed to upskill adult learners in the field of basic building and property maintenance. Bay Path’s instructors will provide students with the skills and IRCs (Industry Recognized Credentials) needed to obtain at least an entry-level position in building and property maintenance. The course will also offer students classroom and hands-on learning in topics such as facilities cleaning and sanitization procedures, performing repairs on various building systems and components (including the basics of plumbing, electrical, HVAC – heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), minor building repairs, groundskeeping, proper tool and equipment usage, and appropriate upkeep. Additionally, students will learn how to maintain basic documentation associated with activities, repairs, and inspections.

During the course, students will also earn Industry Recognized Credentials such as OSHA 10

Bay Path’s experienced electrical instructors will equip students with foundational knowledge and hands-on experience essential for entry-level employment or progression toward journeyman licensure.

The curriculum covers electrical theory, workplace safety, tool identification, wiring methods, outlet and switch installation, blueprint reading, and an introduction to the National Electrical Code (NEC). Students will also learn basic troubleshooting techniques and routine maintenance. This course lays the groundwork for individuals planning to enter the electrical trade and begin the journeyman process.

Students will earn Industry Recognized Credentials such as OSHA 10 and Hot Work Safety Certification, both commonly required for employment in the trade.

Automotive Collision Repair

 

This course is designed to upskill adult learners in the Automotive Repair & Refinishing Field. Bay Path’s automotive collision instructor will provide students with the skills and IRCs (Industry Recognized Credentials) needed to obtain at least an entry-level position in local collision repair shops. This course will provide students with classroom and hands-on learning in topics such as: vehicle identification, damage assessment, damage appraisal reading, blueprinting a repair plan, disassembly/re-assembly aided by All-Data, scratch/dent paint defect repair, and collision repair, structural and non-structural repair, refinishing, rubber/plastic bumper repair, ADAS-Advanced Driver-Assistance System.

During the course, students will also earn Industry Recognized Credentials such as: OSHA 10, Life Certification, and ICAR intro series.

Culinary

This course offers a comprehensive culinary arts curriculum designed in partnership with local industry employers. Participants will learn all aspects of the “back of the house.”

The program will cover soups, stocks, and major mother sauces. The seven major cooking methods will be taught, including grill, sauté, poach, pan fry, braise, deep fry and bake. Proper knife skills as well as how to use all types of equipment found in most restaurants will be taught. Students will learn to break down, trim, and portion fish, chicken, and meats. Several dessert and pastry lessons, including proper preparation of doughnuts, pies, and cookies, as well as pasta, bread, and pizza making will be covered.

Students will earn their ServSafe Certificate and Allergen Awareness Certificate as well as receive assistance in applying and preparing for successful employment, including resume building, and interviewing. To complete the remaining course hours, each student will be placed in a local restaurant to execute the skills they learned with the potential for permanent placement upon completion.
